Can't Beat the Bloat? I Tried This Bloat Relief Supplement for 28 Days

Can't even look at food without getting bloated? I get you. I've tried just about every trick to manage that painful, swollen feeling —from over-the-counter supplements (Gas-X, I'm looking at you!) to home remedies like papaya enzymes. Nothing has worked. So when I came across Noo Gut, a 3-in-1 gut health solution leveraging Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs, I was not particularly hopeful. Still, after I was yet again horizontal on the sofa massaging my bloated belly, desperate for relief, I thought, 'What the heck' and decided to give it a shot.

Today, we will discuss a very sexy topic: bloating. If you’re someone who deals with chronic bloating, you know how challenging it is to find something that provides long-term relief.

For as long as I can remember (I'm 32), I can barely eat a meal without looking 6 months pregnant afterward. Embarrassing? Yes. But the pain is worse. For those who have never had the misfortune of excessive bloat, it kind of feels like someone is inflating a balloon in your bowels. Occasionally the pressure and sharp, excruciating pain would leave me out of commission for hours, curled up in a fetal position, praying I would just fart so the pain would finally pass.

When I go out for dinner with my girlfriends, I carefully pick dresses and tops that cover my stomach. Jeans are a no-no. I have a special collection of pants with elastic waistbands for just such occasions (I know this is not the point of this article, but these ones from Amazon are GREAT!).

You'd think that bloating and gas this severe would be taken more seriously by the medical community. Yet, countless visits to doctors and specialists revealed nothing 'functionally' wrong with my bowels. Instead, I was given the same overprescribed advice they give to everyone: eat a balanced diet, get plenty of exercise, and consume enough fiber. For the $500+ I paid for the visits, I could have gotten that from WebMD. In fact, 1 in 7 Americans experience painful bloating on a weekly basis. It's an epidemic that the medical community does not take seriously enough.

When doctors could not give me the relief I was looking for, I turned to supplements and home remedies. I drank gallons of water, ate papaya like it was my job, and took long walks after dinner. I have also tested just about every popular supplement on the market. While some offered temporary relief, often, I could not justify the hefty price tags when it was only a matter of my next meal before I would get bloated again.

Introducing Noo Gut by NOOCI

In one of my flare-up-induced searching sprees, I stumbled upon Noo Gut by NOOCI.

But Claudia, you ask me, if you've tried everything, how did you get suckered into buying yet another gut supplement? Well, for one, while I am suffering from yet another bloating episode, I cannot be held responsible for how I use my credit card. :)

On the other hand, Noo Gut by NOOCI took a more comprehensive approach than most of the other supplements I have tried, incorporating a blend of probiotics, postbiotics, and ancient herbs used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for generations. I was cautiously hopeful that an integrated approach would not just provide short-term bloat relief but rebalance my gut so I would avoid more painful flare-ups in the future.

At US$55 per month, it's definitely an investment (as most gut health supplements are). While doing my due diligence (I was spending US$55 after all!), I came across one particular review that stood out to me.

I mean, hello! That's me in a nutshell. So I decided to take the leap, and you, lucky reader, reap the benefits. I'll share what I experienced, how it compares to other products, and whether Noo Gut might be worth investing in.

What I Have Tried So Far

If you're someone who struggles with chronic bloating, you probably know that the issue isn't simple—and, unfortunately, most supplements on the market tend to only treat the symptoms.

Instant Relief, but That's It

'Quick fix' bloating supplements like Arrae Bloat (US$64) or the trusty Gas-X (US$12 from Amazon) helped when I was already bloated but did nothing to prevent it from happening in the first place. This locked me into a frustrating (and honestly expensive) cycle of being dependent on these supplements to eat normally.

The Probiotic Dilemma

I have tried raved-about probiotics like DS-01® Daily Synbiotic by Seed (US$49.99 per month) and Synbiotic+ by Ritual (US$54 per month)they only worsened the post-meal bloat. Now, not to bash on these products—they work incredibly well for some people.

However, most probiotic supplements are packed with high doses of generic bacteria strains, which can actually contribute to bloating for people with sensitive digestive systems. When these probiotics flood the gut, they can disrupt the delicate microbiome, leading to gas and bloating rather than relief.

What about Fiber?

Fiber supplements were another attempt at controlling my bloating. While fiber is essential, adding it without proper support can trap gas in the digestive tract, intensifying bloating instead of alleviating it.

How Is Noo Gut Different (Or Not)?

I was 80% convinced Noo Gut would end up causing the same issues as all the other supplements I had tried. However, one thing gave me (cautious) hope; Noo Gut combines elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with scientifically backed ingredients that aim to tackle bloating more holistically. Instead of just piling on more bacteria or fiber, it takes a layered approach to support the gut environment as a whole, which should theoretically tackle the root cause of bloating.

I can't deny, though, that some of the ingredients in Noo Gut looked interesting! Especially

  • Cassia Seed: Cassia seed is a staple in TCM and is known for its anti-inflammatory and calming effects on the digestive system. It has been used as a gut support supplement for thousands of years. It helps soothe the stomach, reducing the feeling of fullness and gas that often follows meals. Unlike fiber supplements that simply bulk up your digestive tract, Cassia seed gently encourages digestion without trapping gas.
  • CoreBiome® Tributyrin: This postbiotic is formulated to reach the colon intact, strengthening the gut lining and reducing inflammation—two crucial aspects of bloating relief. A healthy gut barrier can prevent the buildup of harmful bacteria and substances contributing to bloating, allowing for more balanced digestion.
  • Probiotic Strains (Lactobacillus Rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium Animalis Lactis): These specific strains are carefully selected to support digestion without triggering excessive gas production. They promote a balanced gut microbiome, reducing the likelihood of bloating that can occur from bacterial overgrowth. Unlike many generic probiotics, which left me bloated and uncomfortable, Noo Gut's strains should theoretically support digestive support with minimal risk of upsetting the gut

Noo Gut uses other TCM herbs that are meant to support digestion in its formulation. I tend to be skeptical of TCM since a lot of the remedies are not scientifically backed. However, NOOCI went out of their way to only use TCM ingredients that have been clinically tested for effectiveness. The blend is quite comprehensive so if you want to learn more about their ingredients and their scientific backing, you can take a look here.

Taking Noo Gut for 4 Weeks: Is it Worth It?

As you know, I've tried countless bloat relief supplements, so I went into this with a healthy dose of skepticism. After all, most "solutions" either didn't help or, worse, made my symptoms flare up more. However, Noo Gut pleasantly surprised me, especially going into week 3!

Week 1

I started with two capsules daily, as recommended. I wasn't expecting miracles right away, and I was bracing myself for the "starter bloat" that new supplements sometimes cause. Surprisingly, Noo Gut was very effective in clearing up bloat fast, similar to 'quick fix' capsules like Arrae Bloat. I wasn't getting less bloated just yet, but if I took a capsule after a meal, the bloat episodes did not last as long and were less intense.

Week 2

By the second week, I felt lighter after meals, without the usual heavy bloating. Meals that used to leave me feeling heavy, gassy, and 'puffy' were easier to digest. I did struggle a little bit with loose stools during this period, a common side effect of starting a new supplement. I took a bit of soluble fiber, which cleared it up within 2-3 days.

Weeks 3–4: Eating without Fear

Those loose stools in week 2? I suspect that was just my body clearing out old waste because starting from week 3, my bowel movements became the most regular they have ever been in years. The usual discomfort, bloating, and cramping with every meal seemed to disappear. Even after indulging in a few slices of Pizza Hut (I know, don't shame me), there was no discomfort! Now, I am not going to pretend like I NEVER got bloated—there was undoubtedly some gas here and there, but the difference really was night and day.

My only gripe is that the product only comes in capsule form (I hate taking pills). Noo Gut, if you ever make a sachet or drink format, you've got yourself a convert!

On the left—my typical bloating after a meal. On the right—my post-meal stomach after taking Noo Gut for 3 weeks (you can even see my abs!)

Final Verdict: Get Yourself On Some Noo Gut!

The final verdict? It 100% worked for me. It's not an instant fix, but I do believe Noo Gut's comprehensive approach of gut rebalancing pre, pro, and postbiotics combined with supportive herbs allowed me to finally heal my digestive system, not just mask the symptoms.

I will not pretend that US$55 is not a lot of money. It absolutely is, so you'll need to decide whether it's an investment you are ready to make. However, after the thousands of dollars spent at the doctor's office, countless failed supplements and medications, and the (excuse my dramaticism) excruciating pain of a bloating episode, the US$55 is well worth it to me!

Plus, if it doesn't work for you, you can always return it for a full refund within 30 days due to their satisfaction guarantee  (even if your bottle is empty!), so there is really no risk in giving it a try!
